Welcome to the business unit “Yacht Equipment” of the company Gilbert & Schmalriede GmbH & Co. Kg.
In the area of ship and yacht equipment, Gilbert Schmalriede has grown to become one of the leading suppliers for the maritime sector throughout Europe over the past few years.

We provide independently developed individual solutions tailored to the requirements and wishes of our customers. Our product range includes diverse boat and working cranes, rescue and life-saving cranes, davit systems, gangways, outer shell doors and platforms, illumination masts (singly or multiply telescopic), awnings and special systems according to customer requirements.
Most equipment contains technologies with complex functions and requires experienced operation with internal production for this in order to satisfy all requirements.
As a partner for the area of machine and system construction in ship and yacht equipment, the functional capacity and reliability of our plant and systems is at the forefront.

Load inspection of a lifeboat crane made from aluminium under maximum load using strain gage tests in conjunction with the University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg/East Friesland/Wilhelmshaven for supporting and examining our calculations and finite element results.

April 2009
Development completion and use of our own produced load holding valves and their housings in stainless steel, on request highly polished, as a substitute for pendants available on the market made from normal steel for reducing corrosion-prone components in our systems.

June 2009
Development completion and production begin of the company's own lighting system for gangways in stainless steel, highly polished.
